Special Yearly Events

 

An auction is held by the Trenton Volunteer Fire Department  and  EMS on the 2nd  Saturday in January (3rd Saturday Rain Date).  This was begun in 1972.  It is conducted on the American Legion grounds on 236 S King St. (See MAP) It is an all day event with BBQ pork and chicken plates being sold which are grilled over oak coals and hand chopped.  General merchandise, farm equipment, vehicles, tools, antiques, and occasionally some “junk” is auctioned.  A flea market is also available on the grounds, and sales in this department begin at 9 AM on Thursday A 20% fee is charged .  Drinks and baked goods are sold.  The auction  begins at 8:30 AM on Saturday and continues into the late afternoon.  There is no entrance fee for attendees or buyers, however, a non-refundable 5.00 fee is charged for each item ticketed for sale, and 10% of the sale price (maximum of 100.00 for any single item) is charged by the department.  Free parking areas are nearby.  Come and bring your neighbor.   If you have  any  specific  questions  they  will  be  answered  by  e-mail.
